Opening of the artist studio – combined with a wonderful concert evening with flamenco, the blues of Andalusia in the Damnatz Sculpture Garden

Over the last few months, a lot of work has been done in Damnatz to dig, measure, lay the floor and create a new view.

Anyone who follows our work knows how much we care about the artists. Our women's project in Berlin has shown how valuable it is for them to be able to pursue their art in peace and quiet for a while. We are therefore particularly pleased to invite you to Damnatz. Here, in the magnificent sculpture garden, a new artist studio has been (and is being) created, which we would like to offer to artists for a time-out to work on their own.

Opening with live music
Spanish flamenco artist Elva La Guardia showed us her energetic mix of flamenco and jazz in Damnatz back in 2017. Now she is finally coming back – and showing how spiritedly Latin accompanies flamenco. With the programme “Spanish Grooves – corazones de camino”, which can already be heard as a flamenco jazz project with the NDR Bigband, she and Tom Hickstein create an energetic connection between tradition and modernity. We look forward to atmospheric songs, percussive dances, rhythmic cajón grooves and guitars.
